Teacher's Unions Teach Failure

What's the underlying lesson taught here? Work hard, don't get rewarded. Work average get the same rewards as those who work hard. Be so cemented into the workforce that practically no matter what you do, you'll never be let go. What if teacher's taught the same way as Unions work?

  1. When I first became a college professor a veteran of the teaching wars gave me some advice.

"Give everyone a B+ on their exams. Ninety percent of the class will be thrilled and won't say a word. The ten percent that are truly A students will ask you to regrade their exams. Since you never graded any in the first place, this means that you only have to grade ten percent of the exams, saving you a substantial amount of time and effort."

He was kidding ... I think...
